During the games I've attended, I've noticed a few people's aegs sound much more realistic. Upon looking it up online, I've only seen how-to's with water bottles. I'm purchasing a new motor, tube, and spring and was wondering if this is a purchase, or if there is a way to do it while still keeping a reallistic image. Any help would be appreciated.

But personally i haven't used one this is just what i got in my research.

Also the length of the inner barrel does some effect

I have a sound enhancer on one of my guns that does practically nothing. That's because most of what you hear isn't coming out the end of the barrel. It's the the motor and the piston slamming forward that you can hear and that comes through the receiver wall. If you really want to make it sound more realistic strap a stereo to your back and get "sounds of combat for the insomniac" or "bedtime battlefield" cds.
