Hey guys! I've heard some scuttlebutt about cal signs lately. A few people are unhappy with theirs, or never received one at all. As for myself, I'm just tired of mine getting pronounced incorrectly. So, to kick this off, I've selected a few call signs I like for myself. I'd appreciate comments before I choose one!
Also, feel free to chime in with any call sign/radio SOP questions!
here are my possibles (with some explanations)
Ghost (I'm from Casper, Wyoming)
Toddler
Socrates (It's the beard)
Short Leg (I have one shorter than the other)
Nemo (same reason)
Chop Shop (grew up in one)
Beowulf (Norse ancestry)
Valhalla
Fenris
Fish-Bulb (Simpsons... anyone?)
Cao Dai (If you know, you know)
HALO
MASH

I like the nemo one that's creative and also once you change you can go to your setting to change it.... That's what I did to remove the 69 from my name

Check with your team. AOA has decided that call signs are given to a player by the team, not self chosen. It helps bond players to their teammates when they earn a call sign, be it through badassitude or an epic fail.

My call sign has more to do with Murphy's law than anything else. Shit always gets f****d up around me.

thats actually a good point. anywho, sku_li, if you are going to pick one yourself, i'd go with socrates. it sounds awesome, makes you sound like a genius, and ive never heard someone called by it before. except for the real socrates

Socrates IS a nickname I'm often called, Sku Li (pronounced Skoo Lee) is a derivation of my last name too (Schooley) and was given to me by the most badass petty officer you're ever likely to meet. Maybe I'll just gripe until everyone pronounces it correctly  |

We already have a nemo, like it has been said tac is good with either but aoa is accustomed to assigning callsigns, it adds a much closer feel to airsoft if you ask me. We all on aoa have meaning (besides some of the firsts) and it is fun to tell a long story about.

As far as a call sign, I would just go with the call sign that you use for the sport. That's what all of us do. Easier than remembering to respond to more than one name.

I am always a fan of team assigned callsigns. Usually when something funny happens. Through this method we have such gems as mine. Also Pampers, Cuddles, Wire, etc.

Seriously, team named callsigns are one tradition I would hate to lose. Bushmaster wasnt my Choice but it has become another way of referring to me and brought a lot of humor into my life
