So just an observation.
When I used to play in San Diego we played much longer than what you guys do here in Boise. I am not complaining, please realize that. I had a great time last Saturday.
However, I will say I think a game or two after the "main" scenario may help satiate the community as a whole. My group of 30-40 players usually played from 10-4 on most Saturdays. I did this for about 6-7 years with no problems. People came and went as they pleased, however it gave everyone ample time to play and show up when they needed to.
Just a thought, was curious what other people thought.

I think that would be cool... Its just that it would be hard for me to be out of the house that long... but would love to try it some time... maybe here or there... weekend is the only real time I get with my family...

I understand that, I just found it to be a good release from the work week. That and people can come and go as they want.
That's just from my experience. I showed up almost every Saturday for 6-7 years for these times and had a blast.

I would be down with that as well. Might be a good idea to put to a vote by the community as a while.

I think that a few smaller, simpler, games (TDM, demolition, King of the Hill) for a few hours after the main scenario would be great. However, I would have to know in advance so I could arrange pick up times accordingly.

No. The host decides how long the game is. Whoever is hosting can determine the game. If someone wants Long games. Volunteer to host. You must accept the responsibilities the go with it as well. Blink if you want longer games feel free to contact me and ask to host a game.

I think that it would be a good idea to spread the word to anyone who hosts that it it's acceptable to go over the regular two hours. It could draw more people out to the field some weekends. Like once a month there would be a 4 hour game or something like that. I think it's a good idea for the most part. Just my two cents. ~Cas

Again I'm not here trying to change what you guys got going on here. I was just seeing what everyone else thought. So you guys don't do pick up games at all? Even after a 2 hour "planned" game it wouldn't be allowed to have basic pick up games for those who wanted to play more? I would think alot of people would enjoy playing for more than 2 hours for most Saturdays. -Blink

We've played pick up games after the main event, but if we put the same emphasis on them we risk lowering the quality of the main event as will have less people and less focus on the objectives. To me it would devolve into speedball not so much milsim.

Reason we play once a week is to Keep that urge and love in the sport. We have had 'Monday missions' and they are fun but personally once a week is perfect for me, anymore and it kinda burns me out. But yes like stranger said there is nothing saying you can't host a game after our main weekend events. But I wouldn't expect a large turn out. I would morely consider it a training event

I'm not talking about another day of play. I was just saying it would be nice to have some more game time on a Saturday.
You don't have to have a highly planned scenario or game to be "mil-sim". There is nothing wrong with basic games like force on force, capture the flag, attack and defend, etc... at least in my eyes.

Main reason we don't is because so many people leave. And or they are I'll equipped for that length. Haha most people guns break down before a standard game. Or batteries die.
