Dude, yes! You have my full support AS LONG AS there is a separate facility for airsoft/reenactment use and not paintball. I hate getting paint on my gear.

Oh and I meant to mention! I'm going to be in the Boise Area October 20th thru the 26th meeting with other local organizations and attending meetings to promote OtherWorld Events and to give more information on it. If any of you would like to meet in person to talk or even have a group gathering. Please let me know. I'd be happy take time to do so.
Hazard - Currently all my attempts with getting in contact with paintball groups has been limited. But its my intention that if paint balls are to be used. It must be biodegradable. Also depending on what the needs are for each group, I'm sure something can be worked out in terms of having separate fields.
Wire - Thank you! That's all I'm asking from people currently, to listen and to form their own opinion.

im interested.. but i do have some questions. 1) FPS rules- our guns shoot at 400fps (AEG) 450fps(DMR) 500>fps (sniper). will that be aproblem with your facility? it would be a bit of a hassle to change our internals to shoot within your fps rules if there are any? 2)all of our fields we play at are outside, we have yet to get an indoor facility, i hope your organization can provide this. along with paint not thrown about everywhere like hazard said. 3)most organizations have to have waivers and legal matters that they haver to abide by. like full face masks, FPS, and cammo restrictions, etc. will these matters be involved? play with honor, integrity, and dont forget to watch out for bird shit

Like bird said we are an outdoor community, we would physically have to change change out guns for indoor games, or buy separate ones. From what I understand your openin an organization that would allow us to play/ camp on other people's property? It's an interesting organization but what about insurance? We play a fast action sport that has injuries on all scales. How would it work if I were to be hurt on another persons land? Or if it's your land ? And also what "support" are you looking for? Are you wanting us to play on your fields weekly? If so for what type of cost? Are kids under the age of 18 allowed to play without a parent on site? Would there be alcohol allowed? What your doing looks great and all but I want to know by supporting you it woulnt hold me to anything weekly or make me liable for any type of injury or duty whatsoever to game play. Please either pm me or message me back. I would like to know more

From the video and your website I think this would be a great opportunity for our community and the other local airsoft groups. Details regarding the FPS limits, cost, insurance, weather or not to share an indoor field with paintball, etc. should be reviewed first before we as a group agree to go in on this. Personally I feel like this would be a great benefit for the group but we definitely need to see the finer details of what you're offering.

Happy to answer! 1) I currently have no intentions of telling how groups how to, or should play. It is only my intention to provide an outdoor area for you folks to play in. Not tell you how it should be run. In simpler terms. I provide the play space, you go play. 2) Currently I do not have plans to make any indoor facility's for airsoft or paintball. If there is a large enough demand from such groups wanting one. I'll look into it, but cannot promise something like that at this time as it all depends on the property we end up with and other needs that I'd prefer to have first. (Like bathrooms, showers, covered area) My vision was mainly providing an outdoor field with the intention of letting you guys either putting up "temporary" structures or if possible, shaping the landscape. 3) It is my intention to work with each group to ensure they abide by all safety rules that are already currently in place. If there is a national rule set, then that would be the base to start with. If there is no national rule set. Whatever the local community rules are being followed currently. If I feel that something could potentially cause injury. I'd bring it before your group and discuss the issue. But yes, if you were to come play on the field I'm providing, members would need to sign waivers releasing myself and my business of liability when you are playing your game. It would be a one time or once a year deal, not every time you came out. It is not my intention to disrupt how you guys already play your game unless forced too by a legality I have not yet seen or come across. For all the years I've played other active combat games. I've never seen anybody "force" a group not to play a certain way. Restrict one or two things sure, but never anything major. No, My business is about buying a property and allowing community groups and organizations to come play on it. The process of accomplishing this is going to be through a crowd fundraiser next year. Currently I'm extremely confident I already have enough organizations behind to project to have that fundraiser be successful. But I'm always searching to get more people involved. Many hands make light work. If the crowd fundraiser is not successful. It will be harder for OtherWorld Events. But not impossible, it just means that I need to go though a bank to get the money. And I hate banks. Insurance is something that I, IE my business would (and will) need to acquire and operate on. I also play fast action combat games. Specifically a medieval combat society known as Belegarth. I've seen all kinds of injuries as well from that. I've played it from campgrounds to private land as well. This is how it works for us. If you were to be injured, or if you were injured by another player participating from your own group. You will have signed waivers before hand releasing OtherWorld Events of all liability. I'm only providing the play space. If you get injured by something on the land that I, I.E. OWE, failed to protect you against. That fault would be on me. But if you were injured playing your game just by the activity of playing. That would be on you, and OWE would not be responsible or held accountable. So yeah, Waivers. Currently? Just letting people know about OtherWorld Events and what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm not asking anything from anybody that they don't want to give. As I mentioned before, there is going to be a crowd fundraiser next year. You don't have to give a penny to it. But if successful, you're still more than welcome to come play on it. That's up to you folks. Come play when you want. And at this point in time I couldn't tell you. cost depends on ensuring my business will survive. You may not know me, but I'm not doing this as some sort of "get rich" scheme. I'm an Eagle Scout. The more groups and events held at the site. The cheaper it will be for everyone overall. At least, that is my intention, one doesn't know what the future holds. Are kids under the age of 18 allowed to play without a parent on site? Yes. As long as the minor is accompanied by a chauffeur or responsible adult who is willing to take responsible for that minor, and all his actions. This has worked for us in Belegarth for many years with little issues. Yes. Alcohol will be allowed in designated areas with prior knowledge if alcohol is to be present. Thank you! And no, at NO point will anybody be forced to sign contacts or make statements that say they HAVE to come here XX amount of time or for any reason at all. OWE Will NEVER intentionally let any other 3rd party be liable for something that OWE should be taking care of. Again the exception to this is, OWE in turn will not be liable for anything YOU are doing ON said property. As for the knowing more part, as I've mentioned, I'm going to BE in the Boise Area October 20th thru the 26th. (As I live in Bend Oregon) I would love to meet you and all of you in person to talk and answer questions. Thank you! That is what I'm striving for. Of course! Nothing is written in stone yet. This is the reason why I'm out reaching to you folks NOW so we can begin such talks and ensure that I'm doing everything I can in my power to help you guys have a safe and FUN field. On the facebook page I ACTIVELY BLOG about all the progress I make and everything that I do. I try and keep as much as I can open to the community so that I can receive feedback. And I completely agree! If I can't provide what you are looking for, then nothing gained, nothing lost. And again, I'd love to meet you in person to hear your feedback. Thanks for the response everyone! Hope you don't mind my big wall of text here. Let me know how I can be of service.

Sounds like a venture that has potential in the area, but I will admit a bit of sceptecism. I have read the posts and, honestly, it sounds too good to be true. That being said, if the community decides to back this proposal, I will follow my brothers.

And I don't blame you at all for being skeptic. If I was in your position, I'd be doing the same thing. And trust me, I do have the fair share of skeptics for this project.
I've been where you have been in terms of someone coming in and making lots of promises and then nothing ever happens. Part of the reason for me doing what I'm doing now is because I got sick of tried of those kind of people never following through. For 6 years now I've been researching, learning and building up a team that could accomplish this goal. The 1st big wall that crumpled all efforts before mine is the "money" wall. I come from a ranching background. If you want something, you work for it. The only thing that was ever handed to me after I turned 18 was my parents buying me a cheap car and handing me a small amount of money and telling me "good luck!"
As they say, it takes money to make money. I've poured at least $4000 into this venture with no expectations of possibly ever seeing it again. So to say the least, I have a very large interest in making sure that I'm doing everything I can to make this succeed. And the only way for me to do that, is by reaching out to guys like you, and to other groups in the community where I'm planning to establish my business.
No point in making something happen if no one even knows your doing it. Which is why I'm trying hardest to establish strong community ties. Which by the way, again I'm going to be in Boise. Anyone here know of any good breweries? In Bend we got 20 mirco breweries and it's spoiled me.

Ten Barrel Brewery in downtown Boise is pretty popular with my coworkers. The food there is also pretty good. And after going through your website I got to say that this concept is very interesting to me. Boise also has a pretty strong cyclocross community. You may want to consider trying to get in touch some of the leaders of that community to see if they have any interest in your venue. If you're interested I can hit my bosses up for some more info about the local cyclocross community and who you would want to get in touch with.

I'm not doing cyclocross, but my dad races and a portion of our customers (my family owns a bike shop) race cyclocross. And cyclocross is only a couple months out of the year, the races only last a day or two, and usually the location for each race is different. I was just saying that if he is looking for multiple groups that may be interested in using his venue, which his website seemed to suggest, that he could find additional potential support in the cyclocross community.
Airsoft is basically the only thing that brings joy to my life nowadays, there is no way I would drop it.

Just a heads up for you guys! I'm going to be present October 20th at the event "Operation: Fortunate Son" at the Star Field with Sunday Airsoft. www.facebook.com/events/449618261823523/Not sure if any of you are going to be there but that will be one of the opportunity's to meet me in person. Also again, more than happy to meet any of you at a home or pub to have a group meeting with you folks. I'd really like to meet any of you and help put names to faces. Yeah Wire, we've got a Ten Barrel Brewery here in Bend as well. I LOVE the IPA's they brew. As far as Cyclocross goes, there are things that I can plan for, and some things that can be more difficult to add. Being able to build up an interesting enough course and venue for something like Cyclocross can be... Difficult. It's like trying to advertise to Rodeos. While I could try and pitch to those groups, there isn't anyway for me to be able to build, or accomplish anything acceptable for them to use within in a year or two of opening. I'm all about making promises I know I can keep, but if I know I can't. I don't make them. Also those community's already have a pretty strong backing and are already doing pretty well for themselves that I don't really have anything to be able to offer them that they don't already have or can be made available to them. I'm sure once the site opens and I've gotten a few projects under my belt, I'd like try and tackle the cyclocross then.

Have you been to a cyclocross race? Typically the course is outlined with tape and the only structures are little barricades no more than a foot high. That being said I was at the Kringle Cross in Bend where they had built a 30 foot stair case in place of barricades.

I've seen them around in Bend. But I've never stopped to spectate. And for being able to supply a course, it depends on the property. It's easier for me to promise a field and possibly trees to play airsoft or do medieval fighting in. (As one can always plant trees!) It's another to say I can have a fun and challenging bike track. Again for me its about making promises I know I can accomplish with-in a timely matter. Well I did link the facebook event page before. I'll link it again www.facebook.com/events/449618261823523/Also I have no idea what or where it is. So as to what group call's it which. I wouldn't be able to tell you. Apparently it's a field that will be turned into a subdivision one day. I've never been there personally. It could all be an elaborate plot to kill me.
