i am honored to have served in the 506 INF regiment . so much great history . i remember pulling guard duty at battalion and the barracks and our sgt. major told us we cant watch anything or do anything at all and if he caught uswe would receive an article 15 . so we all thought we would pull up and watch band of brothers one night as he was leaving for home. "What are you retards doing ? " he said i stood up and went to parade rest, looked him in the eye and said "we are watching band of brothers sgt. major . just taking in some unit history . " He looked at me and the NCO on charge and with a tiny smirk on his face he said touche' , carry on gentleman . haha ahh the memories... CURRAHEE!!! 506TH FOR LIFE. its very unfortunate that they are deactivating this proud battle hardened unit after 70 years of service . i am proud to have done a combat tour with the 101st and this awesome regiment back in 2010 . this unit will be truly be missed
Does anybody know what currahee means ? it is cherokee for stands alone
